Somebody Finally Wins the $1.787 Billion Powerball Jackpot
The USD $1.787 billion jackpot will be divided between two tickets that were sold in Missouri and Texas and that matched all six numbers in last night's Powerball draw.
One-Time Payment
The winning numbers? Red Powerball 17, white balls 11, 23, 44, 61, and 62. Two was the Power Play multiplier.
Before taxes, each winner has the option of receiving a lump sum payout of $410.3 million or an annuitized award of USD $893.5 million.
The winner who choose the annuity option will get one payment right away after 29 yearly installments, which will rise by 5% each year.
$1.8 billion jackpot
The second-largest jackpot ever won in the United States was that sum. The highest-ever USD $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot win in 2022 occurred in California.
“Each $2 ticket sold during this Powerball jackpot run gave players a chance at the prize, while also supporting vital public programs and services in their communities,” said Matt Strawn, Powerball Product Group Chair and Iowa Lottery CEO.
Under the direction of the Multi-State Lottery Association, Powerball is available in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Last night's Powerball draw set a new game record for the longest jackpot run, being the 42nd since the jackpot was last won in California on May 31, 2025. The Powerball jackpot resets to USD $20 million following the significant win.
Statistics on Jackpockets
Jackpocket released some intriguing data on Powerball play last week, prior to yesterday's draw, showing the intense excitement as the jackpot continued to grow.
Sales of Powerball tickets on Jackpocket rose by more than 130% on Wednesday. For this Powerball run, the states with the most amount of Powerball ticket orders utilizing Jackpocket were Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey.
“Moments like this $1.7 billion Powerball jackpot represent some of the most exciting times for Jackpocket as attention and interest in the lottery surge. We built Jackpocket, a lottery courier company, with the mission to provide millions of customers a simple, convenient, and secure way to order their tickets right from home while helping state lotteries generate added revenue,” said Pete Sullivan, SVP, Lottery at DraftKings.
